Song-Jar of hearts
We chose to do this song as we will be able to create a good conceptual/narrative music video, due to the song’s lyrics.
Our video is influenced by other existing music videos such as 'Evanesence's My immortal' and other songs from this particular artist. It is shown below through Ashley's textual analysis grid.
This song is very dark and sinister, so we want to portray this aspect through the mise-en-scene especially, as we think we have the capability to challenge some of the conventions of this particular genre of music.
We plan to promote the artist to our target audience (16-25 year old females) by creating a poster, putting the video on youtube, numerous social networking sites, CD cover, a website and obviously; a blog. We believe this will attract their attention as they are at that stereotypical age to use things such as facebook and youtube.
